What we do

GovRays is an editorial project that translates Indian government scheme rulebooks, gazette notifications, and ministerial circulars into clear, plain-English guides. We track over 2,400 central and state schemes across 28 states.

Methodology

  1. 01

We source primary documents from ministry websites, RBI circulars, state gazettes, and PIB releases, never from secondary blogs.

  2. 02

Every guide is written by a researcher, then fact-checked by a second editor against the source document.

  3. 03

Helpline numbers are tested quarterly. Portals are checked monthly for changes in eligibility, deadlines, or document lists.

  4. 04

Each guide carries a 'Last verified' date. Anything older than 30 days enters the re-audit queue.

How we make money

Reader donations, optional paid newsletter tiers, and grants from independent journalism foundations. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored rankings, government advertising, or affiliate revenue from loan products. Ever.
